Alex Iwobi provided the assist for Demarai Gray’s 28th minute goal for Everton in the League Cup win against Fleetwood on Tuesday night.
Iwobi was handed a starter’s spot by Frank Lampard in the Toffees trip to Highbury Stadium for the round of 32 fixture against the lower division side.
The Nigerian, a crucial member of the Everton this season played the entire duration of the game as the Premier League side could only manage a single goal, but progress in the competition.
Lampard left Chelsea target Anthony Gordon on the bench, the attacking midfielder is subject of a £60million bid from the London club.
