Cremonese woes in Serie A Persists, Dessers fires blank against Lecce

Cremonese were gassed up from their Coppa Italia win last week against AS Roma it seem as they returned to the Serie A to face the reality of what has been a dismal season.

La Cremo were handed a beaten upon their return to the League, a 2-0 defeat at home against Lecce compounded their relegation worries and the unwanted record of no victory in 21 Serie A matches.

Federico Baschirotto (59′) and Gabriel Strefezza (69′) claimed maximum points for Lecce at the Stadio Giovanni Zini on Saturday.

Cremonese’s Coppa Italia hero Cyriel Dessers was on for 90minutes against Lecce, but the Forward was shut out as even him continues to struggle in front of goal.

Dessers has four goals and an assist to his name this season in the league, coming off a campaign where he scored 9goals in 29 outings for Feyenoord in the Eredivisie.

Meanwhile, La Cremo’s top scorer in the Serie A this season, David Okereke was an unused substitute.
