In what feels like an clap back to his teammate, Thibaut Courtois has replied Kevin De Bruyne, that age isn’t a determinant in their quest for the World Cup.
The Belgium national team camp has been said to be in turmoil, with a number of first team players said to be at loggerheads.
In an interview, Kevin De Bruyne had claimed that the team was too old to compete for the World Cup, as they are past their prime.
De Bruyne’s statement reportedly caused a rift in the dressing room, after the defeat to Morocco.
Thibaut Courtois has however, said that their chances of qualifying or even playing, does not hinge on the fact that they have an aging squad.
The goalkeeper said at a press conference that, “The words about the age of our defence? Luka Modric proves that age has no link with performance.
“Look at Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo, it’s the same.”
Stade Reims forward, Folarin Balogun, has revealed his admiration for PSG and France superstar Kylian Mbappe, describing the 24 year-old as a "Phenomenon".
