History was in the COSAFA Women’s Championship, as South Africa whitewashed Comoros Islands 17-0 in their group A opener.
Playing at the Wolfson Stadium in Nelson Mandela Bay, Banyana Banyana recorded what was the biggest ever Victory in the competition, beating the 15-0 victory recorded by Zimbabwe over Lesotho in 2002.
It is also South Africa’s largest ever win in their history.
