Claude Le Roy Tips Nigeria for AFCON, World Cup Glory

Former Cameroon and Ghana national team head coach, Claude Le Roy has tipped the Super Eagles for AFCON and World Cup glory in the near future.

Claude Le Roy who won the Cup of Nations with Cameroon in 1988, also tipped World Cup semi-finalists, Morocco for the title as well as Algeria.

 

He also mentioned DR Congo as a team with a potential to be come the champions of African football too.

Although he failed to mention Nigeria as a front runner for the tournament, but hoped the Super Eagles arrive Ivory Coast in optimal level.

“I would not be original if I said that they are the regulars. That is to say, Senegal, Morocco, Algeria, he began his remarks. Personally, I always prefer to bet on teams that can surprise,” the Frenchman said.

“There is obviously Egypt, but there is also Mali, which I have personally been waiting for for a very long time. There is such potential for talent in this country.”

“There is also South Africa and then there is the organizing country, even if I would not put Ivory Coast among the first favorites.”

“I hope that the DRC and Nigeria will arrive with a good level. Because these are two huge footballing nations that have the potential to one day be world champions,” he said.
