Samuel Chukwueze made his first start for AC Milan, when the former Champions hosted Newcastle United in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night at the San Siro.

Chukwueze played on the right of a 4-3-3 formation, but couldn’t really make much of the chances he had as they game ended in a goalless draw.

The Winger got an opportunity to score with a header, but Nick Pope pulled a brilliant save. The Nigerian had another opportunity after being put through but couldn’t find the back of the net.

He was taken out of the game in the 61st minute and replaced by Christian Pulisic as he struggled to make a difference in a game, and that AC Milan couldn’t find the answer to a stubborn Newcastle side.

Tuesday’s game was Chukwueze’s 10th game in the UEFA Champions League, his previous nine were as a Villarreal player.

He’s played in five matches in different competitions for AC Milan this season.

AC Milan didn’t have a great week as they lost scandalously to Inter Milan, and struggled to break a resolute Newcastle side.

Chukwueze will get another chance to feature when AC Milan takes on Hellas Verona in the Serie A on Saturday.
