Chukwueze knocks Bayern Munich out of Champions League

Samuel Chukwueze came off the bench and four minutes later sent the entire travelling fans and his Villarreal teammates into a joyous frenzy as his 88th minute goal sealed a semi-final ticket at the expense of Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena.

Chukwueze blasted the ball into the roof of the net from a Gerard Moreno through pass to cancel out Robert Lewandowski’s 52nd minute strike in the second-leg of their UEFA Champions League Quarter final match to hand the Spanish La Liga side a 2-1 aggregate win.
Unai Emery’s side stunned five times winners Bayern Munich over two legs, clinching a 1-0 victory at the Estadio de la Ceramica and finishing off the job in Munich to go through to the last four of the competition for only the second time in the Club’s history.
Last season Unai Emery guided the side to its first ever Europa League glory and and qualified for the Champions League off that win.
They beat Manchester United 11-10 penalties after the regulation and extra time 1-1 draw.
This season they have the chance to raise the bar and will await the winner of the tie between Liverpool and Benfica in the semis on April 27.
