Samuel Chukwueze has expressed his respect for Sao Tome and Principe, but expects the Super Eagles to secure another significant victory against them.

Nigeria and Sao Tome and Principe previously clashed in the reverse fixture in June 2022, resulting in a resounding 10-0 win for the Super Eagles.

Jose Peseiro’s side is considered overwhelming favorites to claim victory at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.

The Super Eagles have been in exceptional form throughout their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign, and Chukwueze is eager for his team to conclude it in style.

“We defeated them 10-0 the last time we met and it will be nice to go higher than that this time around.

“But in football, you have to respect your opponent as well. They won’t want a repeat of the first leg result and will give us a good fight.

“For us, it is important to make the fans happy. They will be looking forward to another big win and we can’t afford to disappoint them,” Chukwueze remarked.
