English Championship side, Middlesbrough has reportedly accepted a €12 million + €2 million offer for Nigerian striker, Chuba Akpom from Ajax.

Akpom has been hotly sort after, following his impressive performance with Middlesbrough, achieving 28 goals in 38 matches during the last season.

Despite his contract with Boro having just one year left, discussions about his potential departure have been ongoing.

Although his absence from pre-season matches sparked speculations of his exit, Middlesbrough manager Michael Carrick clarified it was due to an injury.

Several Premier League clubs, including Everton, Sheffield United, and Crystal Palace, have shown interest in Akpom, but no concrete agreements have emerged.

While Ligue 1 teams Lens and Lille also made bids for the 27-year-old, they were unable to reach an agreement with Middlesbrough.

However, Ajax stepped in and presented a bid of €12 million + €2 million in add-ons which was accepted by Middlesbrough.

Chuba Akpom is expected to undergo his medical evaluation in the Netherlands on Monday.
