Former Super Eagles midfielder Christian Obodo did not hold back in his assessment of the current NT squad, claiming that the team didn’t deserve a spot at the just concluded FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Obodo accused the Super Eagles players of not showing zeal or desire for the Badge as they would for their club sides.

The Midfielder who was capped 21 times, told FL said the players are not serious and they failed to represent the country well even in the last high profile friendly defeat against Portugal.

“Nigerian players are ‘unserious’, they are not showing the same determination to play for Nigeria like they show for their clubs, just recently they failed to represent the country against Portugal as they were outclassed in that friendly.”

“We did not deserve to play the World Cup. The players are not patriotic enough, not feeling enthusiastic about playing for the country.

“The players are playing for big clubs but are not giving the national team their maximum, that’s why they did not qualify for the World cup tournament.
