Chelsea have identified club legend Frank Lampard and Wolves boss Nuno as replacements for under-fire manager Maurizio Sarri, according to reports.
Roman Abramovich is allegedly unwilling to sack Sarri before the end of the season, but failure to secure Chelsea Champions League football for 2019/20 is expected to see the Italian axed in the summer.
Originally, the Blues were keen on hiring Zinedine Zidane as a replacement to Sarri, but they got disappointed and had to look elsewhere when the Frenchman made a return to Real Madrid earlier this month.
Chelsea has thus identified Frank Lampard, who is currently in charge of Derby, and wolves boss Nuno as potential replacements for Sarri.
Lampard, who entered the managerial game with Derby last summer is hoping to guide Derby into the Championship play-offs, though a recent wobble has left the Rams one point outside the top six; Lampard’s side does have a game in hand over nearly all the teams above them.
Nuno on his end has also done fine work since taking charge of Wolves while they were in the second tier.
He guided the Molineux club to the premier league in real style last season and currently has wolves 7th in the top fight, and in a FA Cup semi-final.
