Chelsea beats Palace, battles Liverpool in FA Cup final

Chelsea dominated Crystal Palace totally in their semi final FA Cup match on Sunday, but the Blues left it late against their London rivals to reach a third consecutive final.

The Blues were favorites to win in the encounter but Palace didn’t make it easy for Thomas Tuchel’s side.

Dethroned as Champions of Europe, Chelsea came into the tie hoping to respond well to the elimination from the UEFA Champions League against Real Madrid.
However, the goals didn’t come until the 65th minute through substitute Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
It was a fine rifles shot from distance and the midfielder celebrated his first goal for Chelsea this season.
Before the Eagles could recover, Mason Mount doubled the advantage for Chelsea in the 76th minute.
The goals disarmed Patrick Vieira’s men and Chelsea could have scored more but for poor finishing.
With progress to the final confirmed the Blues will now battle Liverpool in the FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium on May 14.
Liverpool beat Manchester City 3-2 on Saturday to seal their ticket for another silverware.
The Reds beat Chelsea on penalties in the League Cup earlier this season.
