Charlton Athletic boss, Lee Bowyer advise Nigerian midfielder, Joe Aribo of the danger of switching clubs too soon, with his contract set to expire in the summer.
Aribo was heavily linked with a switch to the German Bundesliga in the January transfer window but a knee injury he suffered scuppered the proposed move.
According to Bowyer, he said: ”There’s no rush, your career is not a sprint. He’ll have a 14, 15-year career, which is a long time, don’t go rushing into anything and ruin it,”
”He could go somewhere and end up back in League One after watching football for two years. It has to be the right place for his own good.
”He has to be playing, whether that’s here, or wherever he goes, it has to be right, I’m honest with him and he trusts me. We want to keep him here, and hopefully, we will.”
The 22-year-old Aribo joined Charlton Athletic in 2015 and has played 84 first-team games, with 12 goals to his name.
