Al Ahly finally got their CAF Champions League campaign off the block after securing a 2-1 win over Al-Hilal Omdurman on Friday night.

Hussein El Shahat scored early in the opening 15th minute and Ramadan Sobhi’s penalty (37′) fired the Eight times champions ahead and left the visitors chasing the game.

Al-Hilal got a consolation in additional time through Athar El Tahir (90+8′), but it did little to stop the Red Devils, who picked their first points in the competition.

Nigeria international Junior Ajayi was on parade and got 88 minutes under his belt.

The Egyptian side had lost their opening game 1-0 to Etoile du Sahel, and now sit third in group B, while the Tunisian side have picked two wins from two.
