Michael Carrick has engineered a phenomena turn around at Middlesbrough since his appointment and the impact of the former Manchester United caretaker Coach is giving fans real hope of a return to the Premier League as early as next season.
Carrick has turned the team’s fortunes around in just 14 games spanning his four months in charge of the team.
In that period, Boro have only lost three times, moving the team third in the standings from the 22nd position before the sack of Chris Wilder.
His Players have also benefitted from the improvements, Chuba Akpom sits top of the League’s scorer’s chart.
Akpom has scored 16 goals this season, 12 of the goals have come under the new gaffer. He grabbed a brace in the latest win against Blackpool.
The 27 year-old’s scored in the 32nd and 59th minutes while Paddy McNair (70′) added the third in the 3-0 win at the Riverside Stadium.
Next up for Boro is a trip to South Wales where they’ll face Cardiff in a Championship fixture.
