Jamilu Collins was an early injury casualty in Wednesday’s English Championship game on the road at West Brom.
Collins was subbed off as early in the 9th minute for after the LB landed awkwardly following a tussle with Jed Wallace on the edge of the area.
He was helped off the pitch by the Cardiff City medical staff and though there is no official word from the club yet, the 28 year-old could spend a few weeks on the sidelines.
As the game wore on despite their early struggles, Cardiff managed to steer the boat to calm waters and at the end earn themselves a point.
Speaking about the injury to Collins in hi s post-match remark, the Bluebirds’ head Coach Steve Morison said, “We don’t know at the minute, in all honesty, he will be assessed in the coming days.”
“With all the will in the world, let’s hope it is just that he’s in really bad pain at the minute and it’s not what we suspect it might be.”
The Englishman also paid tribute to the Nigerian, saying he asked the team to fight for a point against the Baggies in the honor of Collins.
“I said to the lads at half-time, ‘If you’re going to put your bodies on the line for anyone, go and do it for him”, because he has been the best left-back in the league so far.”
About the game Morison said, “It’s a great point.”
“It’s a really tough place to come. We had to deal with the pressure in the first 20 minutes, and then, off the back of that, it was a pretty even game.
“This league is about not losing games of football, and being consistent with your performances. Neither goalkeeper was really tested – I think Ryan had to make a save right at the death.
“It was a pretty even game, and I think a draw was a fair result. If you come away to West Brom and get a point, you’d be pleased.”
