Cameroon Drops Eto’o From World Cup Squad

Etienne Eto’o Pineda, son of Cameroon legend Samuel Eto’o has been dropped from the junior Indomitable lions final squad for the upcoming World Cup in Brazil.

Eto’o, who’s eligible to represent Spain joined up with the Cameroonian squad in order to be included in the team’s final 21 to the World Cup, but the Youngster didn’t do enough to convince Coach Thomas Libiih.

The player, who is the captain of Mallorca’s youth team, was not part of the squad that won the 2019 Africa U17 Cup of Nations in Tanzania.

Eto’o was dropped, alongside five other teammates, Aurel Tiki Joel, Jordan Konango, Bryan Djile Nokoue, Enzo Tchato and Dani Barel Fotso.

Cameroon play Tajikistan, Spain and Argentina in Group E of the FIFA U17 World Cup.
