Ajax have split with Alfred Schreuder seven months after his appointment.
Schreuder was named as replacement for Erik Ten Hag, who took the reigns of Manchester United.
The Manager’s sack could have some consequence on Calvin Bassey’s place in the team; Schreuder seemed to have backed the defender despite widespread criticisms for his performance.
Bassey enjoyed plenty of playing time under the Coach since signing for Ajax for a club record fee.
Things have not really gone exactly to plan for Ajax since the turn of the new year as they have recorded only one victory in six games.
They have drawn five league games and now find themselves fifth on the log, seven points behind league leaders Feyenoord.
Victor Osimhen displayed his goal scoring prowess as Napoli secured an emphatic 4-0 victory against Turkish club, Hatayaspor, in a pre-season friendly on Saturday night.
