A general somber mood blanketed the Super Falcons camp the day after the opening game defeat to South Africa’s Banyana Banyana in the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
Expectedly, the Falcons returned to practice for a recovery session on Tuesday, the entire squad available.

Head Coach Randy Waldrum held another team-talk session with his players, including those who picked up knocks in Monday’s game.
Nigeria suffered a stunning 2-1 defeat to South Africa and are currently third in Group C and hold a slim hope of going through to the second round if the team fails to bounce back with a win against Botswana.
Despite the defeat, Waldrum remains confident that the team showed signs commitment that could be built upon for the rest of the tournament.
However, the Coach – making his debut in the WAFCON – also identified areas of improvement and was critical of some players in his post-match presser.
Also making her debut in the Competition, CB Ashleigh Plumptre held back no punches when she called out teammates, who didn’t pull their weight in the game against South Africa.
