Former Super Falcons coach, Edwin Okon has urged Nigeria’s representative to the CAF Women’s Champions League Bayelsa Queens, to move on from their opening match defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns.

Okon suggested that they need to think of it as a forgone experience, and although it is a serious competition, insists football has the likelihood of serving up the unpredictable.

The Rivers Angel boss said that every African country now wants to beat teams from Nigeria, and that other countries are not stagnant, but are developing at a good pace.

Bayelsa Queens lost 2-1 to Mamelodi Sundowns, the current holders of the CAF Women’s Champions League in their opening group game of the tournament.

Two goals from Lelona Daweti – in either halves of the encounter – was enough to see off the WAFU Zone B Champions, as Mary-Magdalene Anjor’s goal proved to be only a consolation.
