Two first half goals against TP Mazembe were enough for NWFL champions, Bayelsa Queens, to bounce back from the CAF Women’s Champions League, opening day defeat against Mamelodi Sundowns.

On Thursday, in the second group game, Bayelsa Queens got off the block fast notching a 3rd minute opener from the penalty spot.

Ogoma Joseph slotted the penalty kick beyond the goalkeeper, to give her side the lead.

Chinyere Igboamalu extended the lead and put the Nigerian side in firm control of the game.

Meanwhile, Bayelsa Queens will look to wrap up the Champions League group stages with a win over Wadi Degla, who are yet to pick a point so far in the tournament.
