CAFCC: Rivers United learned from Plateau United’s Loss – Nwagua

Rivers United’s hero against Al Nasr, Nyima Nwagua, has revealed that watching Plateau United’s ouster against Al Akhdar inspired his team ahead of their own CAF Confederation Cup playoff match.

Plateau United bottled a 4-1 first leg advantage as they conceded three second half goals in the return leg (4-4 aggregate) to lose on away goals.

Nwagua said the game helped Rivers United analyze what to avoid against their Libyan opponents.

The 29 year-old striker described how he felt about the outcome against Al Nasr.

“After watching Plateau United earlier, where they failed to keep the game until the final minute,  We told ourselves that we have to keep Nigeria’s flag flying. We put in our best and we came out victorious.”
