Rivers United put up a rather disappointing display in their CAF Confederation Cup first-leg, quarter final match against Young Africans as they lost 0-2 at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium.

Mayele Fiston Kalala scored both goals for Young Africans as they head back home with a huge advantage.

Kalala got his first goal in the 73rd minute, and netted his second on the day Eight minutes later off a swift counter attack. Mwamnyeto Bakari laid on the assists for both goals.

Rivers United were unable to conjure any meaningful opportunities and failed to register a single shot on target in 90 minutes as Yanga wrapped up the victory.

The Nigerian champions must now produce a better performance when they travel to Tanzania, next week, in a bid to overturn the result and qualify for the semi-final of the competition.
