CAF CL: Rivers thrash Watanga FC


Three first half goals were enough to give NPFL champions, Rivers United a first round win in the preliminary stages of the CAF Champions League match against Liberian side, Watanga at the Adokiye Amiesimaka stadium.

Rivers United ran riot in the first half of that encounter as new boy, Kenechukwu Agu, scored in what was his first game for the club with a superb finish.

Ebube Duru also put one past the goalkeeper, while Paul Acquah headed home to wrap up an impressive first half.

Rivers United will take a 3-0 advantage into the second-leg in Liberia, to complete their qualification to the next round, a week from now in Monrovia on Sunday September 18th.
