Ahead of their CAF Champions League matchday five fixture against South African side Mamelodi Sundowns, Combative midfielder Dare Ojo has revealed to footballlive.ng the team will do everything within its power to get a good result in South Africa but it will be difficult.
The former Kwara United and Enyimba international midfielder have been instrumental in the Makurdi based side’s campaign in the Champions League this season since being registered for the group phase of the competition playing his first game against Mamelodi Sundowns in Enugu.
The Nigerian team is currently bottom of the log on four points same as third-placed ASEC Mimosa of Cote d’Ivoire while Moroccan side Wydad Casablanca tops the group on seven points same as Mamelodi Sundowns who has seven points out of four games.
Goals from Yaya Kone and Mathias Martins completed a comeback for the club as they came from a goal down to beat their more illustrious South Africa opponents after the visitors took the lead through Liberian Anthony Laffor in the 38th minute.
Ojo who is no visitor to the South African side, while playing for Enyimba International said their aim is to return to the country with a positive result. “It is going to be a very difficult game but it is football and it is a 90-minute match so we intend to give our best on Saturday.”
The game comes up at the Loftus Versfield Stadium in Pretoria by 8 pm Nigerian time and will be officiated by Janny Sikazwe from Zambia.
