Kwara United have a leg in the next round of the 2022 CAF Confederation Cup after thumping visitors, AS Douanes 3-0 in the first leg of encounter at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena.
Man of the match, Wasiu Jimoh got two goals, one from the penalty spot, after an opposition defender handled the ball in his own box.
Samson Paul got the first goal for Kwara United after tapping in from close range off a spilled save by the goalkeeper from Jimoh’s shot.
The home side dominated proceedings in the first half as they ran over their Nigerienne counterparts.
However, AS Douanes seemed to grow into the game and worried the Kwara United defence.
The hosts, however, saw off the match without conceding and only need a draw away in Niger next week to ensure passage into the next round of the CAF Confederation Cup.
