Niger Tornadoes have left Nigeria, on Tuesday, for Guinea where they are scheduled to confront Santoba FC in the second-leg of their Confederation Cup first round tie.
The contingent which comprised 18 players and 9 officials departed for Conakry from Murtala Mohammed International airport, Lagos.
Before the team’s departure Head Coach Abubakar Bala told footballlive.ng that his side is “prepared” to reach the group stage of the competition; despite a 2-1 home loss in the first-leg.
“We would be going straight away to Guinea for better preparations and hopefully will train when we touched down in Conakry following day (Wednesday).
“We want to be mentally prepared to face Santoba FC on Friday. We have a lot to prove and that will be done on matchday,” Bala said.
“I can confidently assure you that we are well prepared for the game, knowing that it will tough out there, but we hope to get a decent result and qualify for the group stage.
“We have called up 18 in-form players that will know will give us what we want in Guinea.” He explained.
The game is holds on Friday in Conakry and Tornadoes need an outright win to advance to the next stage.
