Box to Box FC ends MFM FC four years reign as Lagos State FA Cup champions

Amateur side Box 2 Box Football Club caused a major upset at the ongoing Lagos State FA Cup as they eliminate Nigerian Professional Football League side, MFM on Sunday.

 

Box to Box came from behind to shock the Olukoya Boys 2-1 in the fifth round tie played at the Agege stadium on Sunday .

MFM FC opened the scoring through Lawal Abayomi in the 40th minute as the holders went into half time break in front.

Hostility resumed In the second half, as Andrew Michael restored parity in the 51st minute for the underdogs.
Box to Box completed the comeback in the 81st minutes of the game with a goal from Arokodare Tolu to end MFM’s four year reign as the Lagos State FA Cup winners.

Box 2 Box will now play Saphirre FC in the quarter final at the Legacy Pitch on Monday by 2 pm.

The result came as a shocked to MFM FC who has slipped from first position to third in Group A of the Abridge NPFL table with 24 points from 16 matches.
