Bonke replaces injured Ndidi for World Cup qualifiers against Ghana


Innocent Bonke has been handed a call up to the Super Eagles as replacement for the injured Wilfred Ndidi ahead of Nigeria’s World Cup qualifiers against Ghana.

Bonke was initially left out of the 32 man squad for the double header and was also snubbed for Nigeria’s AFCON campaign in Cameroon.
The 26 year-old moved from Malmo to Ligue 1 side FC Lorient in the January transfer window, joining up with compatriot Terem Moffi.
News of the midfielder’s inclusion – although he didn’t the standby list – was posted on the NT’s official social media pages this Sunday.
Bonke with two caps, will replace Wilfred Ndidi who injured his knee during a Europa Conference League match for Leicester City on Thursday.
According to Leicester Boss, Brendan Rodgers the Nigerian suffered a medial ligament problem in his knee and will be out for several weeks.
Recently, Ndidi suffered a Thigh Muscle Strain and missed 3 games. In 2020 he tore an abductor Muscle and was out for 76days missing 15 games for Leicester.
In the past, the DM has also suffered several knee injuries that kept him out for a total of 41days.
