Boniface on verge of Ending Royale Union SG’s 109-year Cup drought

Royale Union SG won their Belgian Cup semi-final, first-leg tie against Antwerp with the odd 1-0 result at the Stade Joseph Marien on Wednesday.

Bart Nieuwkoop’s 83rd minute goal sealed the win for Royale Union SG as they edge closer to ending their 109-year wait for the Cup triumph.

On the night, Nigeria’s Victor Boniface started the game, but, he was replaced in the 76th minute on what was his 3rd appearance in the competition – he has 2 goals.

The second leg of the tie will hold next month in Antwerp at the Bosuilstadion.
