Victor Boniface ended an 11-game run without a goal in the Jupiler League, when on Sunday he netted one of four goals as Royale Union SG steamrolled their way to victory against Waregem.
Boniface’s last goal in the league was way back in October during a 6-1 win against Oostende away from home.
The 22 year-old forward has now scored four times in for Royale Union SG in 21 league appearances, a sharp contrast in his goal return in other competitions.
He scored twice in three outings during the team’s run in the Belgian Cup, and he also has three goals in 6 Europa League games.
On Sunday, Victor Boniface’s 55th minute goal was the second of the game after Cameron Puerta’s opening strike in the 9th minute.
Gustaf Nilsson (79′) and Teddy Tuema (89′) completed the rout as the team kept pace with top of the table Genk – 7points separate the sides.
Next up for Union SG is the 25th round of games fixture, and away from home against Club Brugge on Friday.
