Two goals against RFC Seraing on Sunday took Paul Onuachu’s tally to 16 goals in 19 appearances this season, and KRC Genk have been the better for it.

A six points gap now separate KRC Genk from Royale Union SG at the top of the Jupiler League standings, a campaign that’s been largely determined by the 28 year-old Forward, Onuachu.

The Nigerian continues to excel for the team in his fourth season, and remains on course to eclipsing his 21-goal from last season – his best season’s tally stands at 33goals.

Against RFC Seraing, he first scored from the spot in the 7th minute – Only 4 of his goals have come from the lottery.

His second in the 60th minute was from open play, assisted by Mike Trésor, who had doubled for the hosts in the 14th minute.

Meanwhile,  Paul Onuachu got just over an hour of action, the 9th time this season where he was taken off in the game.

The final goal was scored by Ghana international, Joseph Paintsil, in the 64th minute to complete a four-game winning streak in the league.

Next up for the League leaders is a road game against KAS Eupen on February 1, at the Stadion am Kehrweg.
