Besiktas consider Nwakaeme, to lure Striker back from Saudi Arabia

Turkish league outfit, Besiktas, have made contact with the camp of one-cap Nigerian striker, Anthony Nwakaeme. The Super Lig side want the former Trabzonspor forward on loan.

The 33-year-old front man propelled Trabzonspor to their first league title in more than thirty years.

Nwakaeme scored 13 goals and provided 10 assists in 30 games for the club and a total of 47 goals, 40 assists in 145 matches.

As was reported, the champions Trabzonspor offered the Nigerian a contract extension, the deal was however rejected, and Anthony opted for a move to Saudi Pro League side, Al Fayha on a two-year deal in the summer.

Nwakaeme, it is believed, will entertain discussions of a return to Turkey, and Besiktas intent on bringing him back on loan during the January transfer window.

Besiktas signed a couple of notable English Premier League stars over the summer, including Dele Alli (loan), Romain Saiss, Wout Weghorst (loan), Cenk Tosun, Arthur Masuaku (loan) and Nathan Redmond, taking the number of in comings to a total of 14.

However, Besiktas find themselves languishing in 8th spot on the Super Lig table, but will be looking to bring in Nwakaeme to improve their season.
