Benin Rep. Boss Dussuyer Rejigs AFCON Squad for Qualifiers against Nigeria

Benin Republic head Coach Michel Dussuyer has made nine changes from the squad that played at the 2019 AFCON for this month’s qualifier of the 2021 AFCON first-leg match against Nigeria.

Benin will visit Nigeria’s Super Eagles on November 13 at the Akwa Ibom International Stadium, Uyo, before welcoming Sierra Leone to Cotonou few days after.

 

Michel Dussuyer named a total of 23 players for the clash against the neighbors as they kick start their quest for a place in 2021 African Cup of Nations.

 

Former West Bromwich Albion midfielder Stephan Sessegnon , Huddersfield United’s Steve Mounié and and German based Cebio Soukou top the list of players invited.

 

The new players include, Goalkeeper Marcel Dandjinou, Defenders Ogouchi Jean, Youssouf Assogba, Yarou Nabil, Cédric Hountondji, Melvyn Doremus.

 

Midfielder Agossa Jérôme Bonou and forwards Yannick Aguèmon and Marcellin Koukpo.
