Moses Simon was in action as Freiburg played host to Nantes at the Europa-Park Stadion in Germany in the UEFA Europa League.
Nantes went into the game with the hope of getting all three points after losing the second-round game against Qarabag.
However, Freiburg proved a step too high for the French outfit as the German side made it three wins from three games to sit top of group G.
The first half was intense as both teams went at each other, but no goal went in, Nante’s resolve lasted only 3 minutes into the second half as Ritsu Doan showed great vision to release Daniel-Kofi Kyereh who coolly tuck it home for the lead.
Moses Simon was taken off after 69 minutes and 3 minutes after Freiburg doubled their lead as Vincenzo Grifo reacted quickest to Christian Gunter’s through ball to put the game beyond Nantes.
Nantes are third on the Log with three points behind Qarabag and group leaders Freiburg.
The duo of Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfried Ndidi both started for Leicester City as they suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to Arsenal at the King Power Stadium on Saturday in the Premier League.
