The Super Eagles defender, Calvin Bassey delivered a standout performance for Fulham in their thrilling 2-1 victory against TSG Hoffenheim in the Cottagers’ final pre-season friendly at Craven Cottage on Saturday.

Bassey, who earned his first start since joining Fulham from Ajax last month, made an impact right away, scored and earned himself the Man of the Match award.

Another new acquisition, Raul Jimenez, struck the opening goal for Fulham just six minutes into the second half, putting them in the lead.

However, Hoffenheim responded swiftly, equalizing through Grisha Promel’s powerful header just five minutes later.

With the score level, the match was fiercely contested, but in the end, it was Bassey who rose above the rest, delivering the winning goal 17 minutes from time.

The powerful centre-back demonstrated his aerial prowess, evading his marker to head home the winner, from an inch perfect Andreas Pereira corner.
