Bassey rock solid performance earns Rangers point in Old Firm derby

Calvin Bassey was a one-man riot squad for Rangers in the Championship playoff match against Celtics at Celtic Park on Sunday.

Bassey was deployed yet again as a Center Back in this crucial Old Firm derby encounter.
The hosts took the lead from a brilliant build up play and capitalized on Rangers’ poor defending in the box.
João Pedro Filipe side-footed his volley into the back of the net as he ran into space from his marker’s blind side.
Celtic dominated the first half and went into the break with their noses in front.
After the restart, Rangers raised their game in defence and Bassey was the Marshal.
He made crucial tackles and interceptions, while pressing and cut off passing channels between the midfield and Celtic’s attackers.
Eventually, Rangers got their chance upfront and Fashion Sakala was played through goal by Ryan Kent, the former finished with a fine shot.
The outcome of the game leaves Rangers behind Celtic in the standings and both have since confirmed their UEFA Champions League places.
