Bas Dost reportedly rejects Dessers’ spot at Feyenoord

Feyenoord are yet to find a replacement for Cyriel Dessers, who left the Dutch side for his parent club KRC Genk.

Dessers spent last season on loan with the Rotterdam side, enjoying a fine run in the Eredivisie and the inaugural Europa Conference League.
Feyenoord finished third in the Eredivisie, reached the final of the Europa Conference League where the Nigerian scored 10 goals and finished as top scorer.
However, Feyenoord could not exercise the option to make the loan deal permanent because all parties couldn’t reach an amicable financial agreement.
As a result, the Eredivisie side are in the transfer market, searching for a replacement and have been linked with veteran Dutch forward, Bas Dost.
But according to Dutch RTV Drenthe, Dost has rejected the offer to replace Cyriel Dessers at Feyenoord.
The Club Brugge striker, whose contract expires at the end of the month, has announced that he will not accept the offer from the Rotterdam team.
Dost, 33, however prefers a move FC Emmen; where he started his professional career. FC Emmen opened talks to persuade the attacker to choose them.
Feyenoord will turn their attention elsewhere and hunt for Dessers replacement.
Cyriel Dessers played 42 games for Club in which he scored 21 times and provided 7 assists.
