CHAN Eagles and Remo Stars goalkeeper, Kayode Bankole has clinched the best goalkeeper award for the most clean sheets in the regular NPFL 2022/2023 season.

Bankole made seventeen appearances during the course of the season and kept a total of nine shutouts on the Club’s way to qualifying for the Super 6 in Lagos next month.

Remo Stars ended the group phase in second place behind Bendel Insurance in Group A, conceding fourteen goals, coming as the third meanest defence in the league, at par with Akwa United and Sunshine Stars in Group B.

The goalkeeper also clinched the award last season and remains one of the most consistent goalkeepers in the league since moving to Ijebu-Ode based in 2020 from Shooting Stars.

Amas Obasogie of Bendel Insurance and Jean Efala of Akwa United tied for second place with eight clean sheets each. Mustapha Lawal and Emmanuel Daniel each had seven clean sheets to round out the top five best goalkeepers.
