Balogun back, Aribo with a fine goal in Rangers’ 4-2 win against Ross County

Leon Balogun returned to action for Rangers since the home defeat against Malmo FF in the UEFA Champions League qualifiers and the CB played all 90 minutes against Ross County as did Calvin Bassey.

Balogun fresh off after missing three games for the Scottish Champions, was back again to help Steven Gerrard’s men pick up a good win.
Rangers easily dispatched their hosts 4-2 at the Global Energy Stadium and Joe Aribo was one of the goal scorers.
Aribo actually got the champions off to a flier with his goal on the 15th minute mark.
Connor Goldson (19′) doubled but the hosts reduced the deficit with in if their in the 40th minute to go into the break.
Having accounted for the assist in Aribo’s goal, Colombian Alfredo Morelos got his name on the score sheet (56′) to restore the two-goal lead.
However minutes later, Ross County were at it again, looking like they wanted a real contest and on 77 minutes they cut the deficit and made it 3-2.
The defensive frailties that Steven Gerrard had worried about in the games leading to the Malmo defeat and in that game looked like they were back to haunt The Gers, but substitute, Scott Arfield nipped the worries with a final strike to end Ross County’s resistance.
The 32 year-old Canadian scored with six minutes left to seal a deserved but nervy win for the league champions.
Victory on Sunday lifts Rangers to fifth on the standings, tied on points with Celtic but one point behind the top 3.
