Leon Balogun and Joe Aribo started for Rangers in the UEFA Europa League clash against Olympique Lyonnais at the Ibrox Stadium,, but it ended in a defeat for the hosts.

Cameroon’s Karl Toko-Ekambi’s brilliant solo goal in the 23rd minute and an own goal by Rangers captain James Tavernier condemned the Scottish champions to a disappointing defeat at home.
Meanwhile, Balogun did put in a good shift with 4 tackles attempted, 2 interceptions, 2 clearances, 3 blocks and 2 aerial duels won.
The 33 year-old was one of the best performers for Steven Gerrard’s men despite the defeat.
On his path Aribo, deployed as an inverted forward in a three-man attack registered 1 shot on target, 2 aerial duels won and completed 2 dribbles.
However, the Gers fell short where it mattered most, failing to find the back of the net in their opening game of the competition.
In Greece Henry Onyekuru played for 81 minutes as Olympiacos snatched a late winner to beat Royal Antwerp in their Europa League group D match.
