Nigerian Forward Odion Ighalo was a second half substitute in Shanghai Shenhua’s defeat to Shandong Luneng in Chinese cup game on Friday.
Ighalo, who has endured an injury ravaged season is still off the pace, as he continue to struggled find his rhythm.
The one only goal of the game was scored by former Italy and Southampton striker Graziano Pelle from the penalty spot in the first half.
Shenhua however continued to searched for an equaliser and Ighalo was introduced in the 54th minutes of game for Stephan El Shaarawy.
However, the 2019 Afcon top scorer failed to hit the target and Shenhua were eliminated.
