Bad Cucumbers! Leganes slump to fifth straight defeat… Omeruo gets 90minutes

It was a bad day at the office for Kenneth Omeruo and CD Leganes in LaLiga 2 as they lost 3-1 to visiting Cartagena.

Leganes are 16th in LaLiga 2 standings, with no hope of securing a promotion playoff spot, but Saturday’s game had started off brightly for Los Lega.

A 39th minute penalty put them ahead, and they finished the half strong with their noses in front.

In the second half, the hosts held their own starving off the attack of Cartagena, until the 78th minute when second-half substitute l, Alfredo drew the visitors level.

Moments later another substitute, Franchu completed the come back with his strike in the 81st minute.

To wrap up the points, FC Cartagena were gifted an Own goal, former Watford defender, Allan Nyom turned the ball into his own net in stoppage time.

Meanwhile, Omeruo played the entire duration and captained Leganes, in his 13th league appearance this term.

Leganes are on a rot at the moment, having failed to win in any of their last eight league games (D2, L6).
