Ademola Lookman continued his rich vein of form as he followed up his goal scoring performance in the Serie A four days ago with another impressive show for Atalanta in the Coppa Italia against Spezia.

Lookman opened his account in the Coppa Italia with a brace to lead Atalanta’s 5-2 win at the Gewiss Stadium.

The Winger grabbed his brace in two minutes – the opening 12 minutes – but the visitors responded, halving the deficit in the 14th minute through Albin Ekbal.

But, Atalanta restored their two-goal when Hans Hateboer scored in the 26th minute. Spezia still had some fight in them and had the last say in the half, Daniele Verde snuck one in on the 38th minute.

However, it was all Atalanta in the second half, Rasmus Hojlund (72′) and an Ethan Ampadu (90′) own goal sealed the win for Gian Piero Gasperini’s side.

Atalanta cruised into the quarter-final, where they’ll face Inter Milan on January 30.
