Former Flying Eagles forward Taiwo Awoniyi scored his 8th league goal of the season in Belgium last weekend, reports Footballlive.ng.
The on-loan Liverpool striker found the back of the net for Royal Excel Mouscron who walloped Zulte-Waregem 3-0 at the Stade Le Cannonier on Sunday.
Awoniyi was determined to end his four-game goal drought and he did that from the penalty spot in Belgian First Division Playoff Europa League Group B match.
Selim Amallah and Babacar Dione grabbed the other goals for Royal Excel Mouscron.
Awoniyi, 21, is expected to return to his parent club at the end of the season.
Liverpool have placed a €15million price tag on his head, with Schalke 04 among the sides trying to sign him this summer.
Schalke are keen along with Club Brugge and Standard Liege.
Mouscron have an option to sign him when his loan deal comes to an end but they don’t have the funds to do such business.
