Forward Taiwo Awoniyi returned to action in the Premier League with Nottingham Forest and played a pivotal role in their 1-1 draw against Burnley in a matchday 5 clash at the City Ground, on Monday night.

The Striker notched up an assist, setting up former Chelsea forward Callum Hudson-Odoi for the crucial goal that saw Forest level the score after Zeki Amdouni had put Burnley in the lead.

With the assist against Burnley, Awoniyi has extended his goal contribution streak to nine consecutive Premier League games, dating back to his brace against Southampton on matchday 35 of the 2022-2023 season.

What’s particularly noteworthy is that, just five games into the season, the former Liverpool forward has already surpassed his assist count from the previous season.

His Compatriot , Ola Aina, also featured alongside Awoniyi for Nottingham Forest.

Interestingly, Aina started the game as a left-back but ended up as a right-back after Gonzalo Montiel, who initially played the position, was replaced by former Arsenal defender Nuno Tavares.

Meanwhile Ola Aina was in action for the entire 90 minutes, but Awoniyi was substituted two minutes before the end of the game, making way for Chris Wood.
