Austin Eguavoen insists he’s still one of the best coaches in Nigeria and will gladly manage the Super Eagles in the future.
Eguavoen was offered a two and-half year contract to manage the Super Eagles but he opted to resign as interim manager after the team’s failure to pick a ticket to the FIFA 2022 World Cup.
However, the former Super Eagles insists he is not giving up hope of returning to manage the team in the future and considers himself one of the best hands in the country.
“If I am called upon to lead the team again, I will definitely take up the job. I am still one of the good coaches in the country. I can still prove a point, it is just a matter of time,” Eguavoen said during Super Sports’ Monday Night Football show.
“No regrets taking up the job. When you are called to serve the nation, I could not refuse them,” he added.
The 56 year-old’s record with the team in his second stint as Head Coach stands at three wins, two draws and defeat .
