Aston Villa have lined up possible options should they miss out of this Summer’s prime target Calvin Bassey.
Villa boss Steven Gerrard is keen on reuniting with the player he signed for the Gers two years ago, but Rangers are requesting £25 million for the player.
According to Birmingham daily, Villa are not willing to go above the £18 million they offered and have drawn list of options, should they miss out on the player.
Scotland defender Aaron Hickey is believed to be one of the options with his Club, Bologna reportedly ready to do business for £18 million.
Stuttgart defender Borna Sosa is also on the wish list and Gerrard is keen to find someone to compete for the left-back role with Lucas Digne next season according to the report.
However, Villa won’t give up in the chase for Bassey who is set to meet with Rangers Chiefs before pre season.
