Ghana will still be rueing their missed chances against Uruguay as they failed to reach the round of 16 at the World Cup.

The Black Stars blew their chance, as Andre Ayew missed an early penalty while Thomas Partey failed to make an impact from the midfield.

Speaking on the performance of the team, Mamelodi Sundowns coach Rhulani Mokwena via Ghanaweb, blamed Partey more, tagging the Midfielder’s performance as disappointing.

He went on to compare the Arsenal man with the likes of Casemiro for Brazil and Sergio Busquets for Spain, claiming Partey lacked presence and did not perform to his usual standards.

‘I’m disappointed in the lack of presence by Thomas Partey,’ Mokwena said.

‘You see Casemiro for Brazil and Busquets for Spain. The importance of a very good screen is pivotal in protecting the defensive line.

‘Looking at what Thomas Partey did today (Friday), it was just too easy to face the last line of this Ghanaian side and they were extremely exposed.

‘You’d think that with the quality and experience that he has playing for Arsenal would do a little more in terms of sitting in front of the defence and then protecting them a little bit more.’
