Arsenal women have confirmed that Laura Wienroither ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament during their defeat in the UEFA Women’s Champions League clash against Wolfsburg.

The Women’s Super League club says it expects Wienroither could be out for six to nine months.

Wienroither is the fourth Arsenal player this season to suffer an ACL injury after Leah Williamson, Beth Mead and Vivianne Miedema.

The trio have been sidelined for lengthy periods on the treatments table.

Laura Wienroither’s injury comes as a blow for the Austria WNT, but they’d be hoping she returns fully before the Women’s Nations League and the 2025 UEFA Women’s EURO Championship qualifiers next year.
